Our Story
At Salsa del Gringo, we believe salsa should be bold, fresh, and full of flavor. Our small-batch salsa company is co-owned by husband-and-wife team Erik and Catherine Stroup, who are passionate about creating authentic, homemade-style salsa that brings people together.
The idea for Salsa del Gringo began in 2020, when Erik spent the summer experimenting with unique salsa recipes during the COVID lockdown. What started as a kitchen hobby quickly grew into a dream of sharing his fresh, flavorful salsa with the world. In 2021, Salsa del Gringo officially became an LLC, but the real turning point came later that year when Erik met Catherine. She not only became his life partner, but also the missing piece to bring this salsa business to life.
Together, Erik and Catherine perfected their recipes and officially launched Salsa del Gringo in 2023, selling their first jars of salsa at Root’s Country Market and Auction in Manheim, Pennsylvania. From those early farmers’ market days, word quickly spread about their flavorful blends, and today Salsa del Gringo can be found in multiple local store locations.
Every jar of Salsa del Gringo is crafted with care, using high-quality ingredients to deliver that perfect balance of heat, freshness, and bold flavor. Whether you’re looking for a mild salsa to enjoy with chips or a spicy kick for tacos and grilled meats, our salsa is made to elevate every meal.
Now available online through our Etsy shop, Salsa del Gringo brings the taste of Pennsylvania’s farmers’ markets straight to your home.
